Web content can be imported into Exceed Cast. The website page will be converted to a static image.

Dynamic, motion, or video content on the webpage is not supported and will not be visible.

Method

The provided webpage URL will be loaded by a Chromimum-based browser with JavaScript enabled. Cookies are supported, but only for the length of the request. After the page loads, the local cookie store will be cleared. Once the page and external content has finished loading in the browser, a screenshot will be taken of the rendered content using a viewport resolution of 1920x1080. This screenshot will then be uploaded into the Exceed Cast zone.

Dynamic Refresh

This content source supports dynamic refresh. After adding a webpage content item to a zone, it will automatically be refreshed every 60 minutes. This interval can be adjusted using the item settings button. It can be set as low as every 5 minutes. A value of 0 for the refresh interval will disable automatic refresh, and the content will become static.

Security Considerations

While the contents of the cache and cookies are cleared after each request, webpages are fetched in a shared browser environment. Webpages should not set login cookies, or handle confidential information.

Error: Egress proxying is denied

If you see text error starting with "Egress proxying is denied..." instead of your expected webpage content, this means your URL has been blocked by the network security firewall. You will have to use a different server or URL to host the content.
